Obituary for Rodd L. Lough Sr.

Rodd L. Lough Sr.
After a long and difficult battle with cancer, Rodd L. Lough Sr., age 52, has passed on to be with his Lord on August 20, 2017, in the comforts of his home, with his loving wife at his side.
Rodd is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judith L. Lough. His son, Rodd L. Lough Jr. and wife, Jessica, of Uniontown; his adoring mother, Nancy Lough of Uniontown; his admiring father, Richard Lough and wife Peggy of Uniontown. Brothers: James Lough of Uniontown, Tim Lough and wife, Donna, of Lemont Furnace, Doug Lough and wife, Jenn, of Uniontown, Todd Lough and wife, Brenda, of Hopwood, Adam Lough and wife, Brandy, of Uniontown and his baby sister, Shelvia Jean and husband, Mike, of Florida. Cherished brother-in-law, Dave Halbrook, and wife, Denise, of Reading, Pa. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom he loved, very much. Also, one very special little girl, Payton Rose Lough, his granddaughter and pride and joy.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Lucy Oldland and paternal grandparents, Hansford and Ida Lough; his loving niece, Stacy Halbrook, of Reading, Pa.
Rodd was born on October 1, 1964 in Uniontown, PA to parents Nancy Lough and Richard Lough. He attended Laurel Highlands High School. He became a truck driver by trade and worked for multiple companies all of which helped him in becoming his own owner-operator. He then passed his EMT and Paramedic training and worked for Fayette EMS and Uniontown Hospital ED for 15 years. In 2015, he started PRL Transportation, fittingly named after his granddaughter and drove truck for another year.
Rodd was a great family man and a loving father. He married the love of his life, Judy, in June of 1985 and the couple had one child together.
Rodd was a social, active man who was deeply involved in volunteer firefighting with Hopwood Volunteer Fire Department and North Union Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed driving truck, hunting, and spending quality time with his beautiful granddaughter. His family and friends will always remember him as a caring, fun loving, and a giving individual.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext, Uniontown, Pa. on Wednesday, August 23, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; and on Thursday, August 24 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. , the Hour of Service, with Pastor Yves Monnier officiating. The interment services with Hopwood VFD in attendance will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, with a reception to follow.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rodd's life. The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Care and Hospice.
Hopwood Volunteer Fire Department will conduct services on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.
